About the UKEA

This website is managed by the UK Electronics Alliance (UKEA).

The UKEA was formed in response to the Electronics Innovation and Growth Team (EIGT) Report, published by the DTI in 2005, which stated ‘that the fragmented, diverse nature of the (electronics) industry, and its difficulty representing itself to Government and vice versa, led to delays in addressing some of the key issues which impact on its performance’.

The UKEA is a consortium of ten of the leading UK trade associations representing the electronics sector, whose primary purpose is to assist and coordinate discussion on cross cutting issues across the sector and, where appropriate, coordinate action on behalf of the sector including acting as a two way communication channel between the sector and Government departments and agencies. By pooling knowledge and resources, the trade associations are able to address many issues affecting the sector more effectively than would be possible by acting individually and enable the electronics sector to speak with a coordinated voice. It also provides a resource for government departments and agencies to enable them to have greater confidence when forming policy and support programmes for the sector.

For more information on the work of the UK Electronics Alliance and a wide range of information including news of Government initiatives that provide support to the sector, relevant member and industry links, industry events including conferences, seminars and workshops and other industry related documents and technical publications, please go to http://www.ukelectronicsalliance.org.uk/
